Zhar Hmad

Zhar Hmad is a suburban poet born in the border town of Johor Bahru in the southern state of Johor, Malaysia. He advocates a universal basic income and wonders about world peace.

Hmad's poems are about the struggles of the Malay middle class including holding onto a job and finding meaning in everyday life. He believes that every word counts. His poems include Mars, Anthem, and Herd Immunity. When not writing poetry, Hmad fantasizes about the beach on a daily basis.

Hmad is also a member of the Poets sans Frontieres - the global poetry collective. He lives in Greater Kuala Lumpur.
