THE CITY MY HEART LOVES - A POEM by Gina Gallyot

The city where my heart loves

Has become a valley of skyscrapers

Over development grew

Tall pointed monstrosities

Shiny pointless structures

Piercing the air I breathe

The muddy banks of my city's river

Ignored like an abandoned romance

Floods float up the debris

Faded flowers, crushed candy boxes

Broken bows and ripped ribbons

Trash the disillusioned throw

Carelessly

Till awareness sinks

like Valentine garbage

In weeks

Leaving just a stink and reeks

Of an immigrants’ dream

that endless bureaucracy killed

My valley of pointless structures

No one loves just uses

Just monstrosities

A dirty cupid's arrow in our sky

Piercing the heart

Of the city my conscience loves

The Last Poem You Ever Wrote

I miss

the person I am -

you were

when I was with you.

I miss

the endless reveries

and winged words

we soared (and thrived) on.

I miss

watching the universes

spin by, as I twirled

on your fingertips.

I miss

the sound of the rain dripping

across three oceans

in tune with your guitar.

I miss

the post cards

from every city you’ve been

thinking about me-you.

I miss

being your heartache

which bloomed into

the last poem

you ever wrote!

Title:

吃饱了,哭也不太痛;

饿时哭,痛再痛加痛。

In conclusion。。。。

我的面包,MY PRECIOUS!!!!!

Replying to

English version:

--Be Alone on A Full Stomach, Don't Starve with Another-- Whenever I desire bread, I can acquire them easily and independently. Love and romance can neither sate my hunger nor quench my thirst. Misery loves company, a plus one is an extra starving mouth to feed, A stiff competition for my toasted bread and melting butter. No army marches on empty stomachs, good food leads to good mood. Tell me, advocates of romance, when you are famished and parched... Can you still keep your flames of passion burning bright and hot? Can you still perform your grand gestures of charm and allure? If I must cry of heartbreak, I rather cry with my appetite satisfied; To have a heartache while…

Yearnings of Yesterdays Yonder

Venerated Valentine invoked by vibrant Votaries via virile vigour or verse versatile,

Audacious ardour aflame, attracting an Audience. Awaiting all-round affirmative awe,

Love leads long line of Lovelorn, languishing Lot. Lo! Lovable. Lovely, lanky, labile,

Eves enticing erotically energized ensemble of Entities, easily entangled in ersatz;

Nevertheless, nervous Novices navigate no-no negotiations. Nudging, new, nubile

Togetherness tampering timidity, tentativeness tending from temerity to ta-ta,

Innocent itching, Invisible inducements, involuntary inversion. Incognito Infantile,

Narratives of near-misses, nebulous nerves, and noblesse oblige. Numbing? nah nah!

Endearments entwine egos, egging emotions; eloquence evolves. Exits erstwhile.

Delightful daring defying the deadening delays. On the Dawning of dizzy draw,

Allegiances affirmed, aims accomplished, aspirations aligned…
