Delhiwallah Poetry Collective presents a poetry contest 'Dos Colores y Cuatro Objetos' (Two Colours and Four Objects).

Submit your poems in the comments section of this post.

What is the deadline?

The contest closes on 30 November 2020, Monday (midnight IST).

What are the rules?

The rules of the contest are as follows:

1. You should start your poem with a four-word sentence.

2. Your poem must contain only two colours.

3. Your poem can mention as many kitchen-related items/objects. However, please ensure that you mention at least two.

4. Use of enjambment in the verse is optional.

5. The poem can be in English or Hindi.

6. Please refrain from using obscenities in your poem.

एक लाल परी की कहानी: दीपाली रैना

तेरा हर बार एक नया नाम सुना अरे वह दिन,

बस बीमार है, तबीयत खराब है,

और अभी लेटेस्ट सुना है एमएलसी,

पता नहीं पीरियड्स है या पति, नाम लेने में ही परहेज क्यों सिखाया है,

दर्द कितना होता है क्या किसी ने तुम्हें यह भी बताया है।

यह मत सोच लिख रही हूं मैं कि मिले तुझसे संवेदना की भीख,

बस चाहती हूं मैं इतना कि तू समय रहते तू कुछ सीख।

बेटी जब छोटी हो तभी उसको बतला दो,

एक लाल परी की कहानी बनाकर उसको यह सब सिखला दो,

यह लाल धब्बा उसे डराना दे उसके हौसलों को कहीं हरा न दे,

कह दो उसको की यह पक्की दोस्त है तुम्हारी जो हर महीने आएगी,

जब कई साल बाद तुमसे बिछड़ेंगे तो उथल पुथल सी मच जाएगी ।

हां जानती हूं मैं कि यह हम ही हैं जो जो sanitary pads ऐसे उठाते हैं जैसे बच्चे अपने ही घर में चोरी करके घबराते हैं,

इस सोच में बदलाव है लाना अब नए कल का नया है जमाना,

अपनी बेटी को यह बतलाना इस कल को तुम ही स्वरोगी,

इस लाल पारी से दोस्ती को नाज़ से फिर पालोगी।

बराबरी की कोई जंग नहीं है,

अलग है रंग रूप तुम्हारा अलग तुम्हारी है तासीर,

बस चाहती हूं मैं इतना कि बांध ना पाए तुम पर कोई जंजीर।

यह लाल परी तुम्हारे जीवन की एक अलग पहचान है,

कमजोरी ना कोई समझे इसको यह तुम्हारा सम्मान है।
